Federal cabinet to discuss 19-point agenda in today’s meeting

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan will chair a federal cabinet meeting to review a 19-point agenda, on Tuesday.

According to details, the federal cabinet is likely to approve establishment of a new ministry “Social Security and Poverty Alleviation” in today’s meeting.

Reports claimed that the cabinet would take a decision over a complete ban on telecasting the matches of Indian Premier League (IPL) in Pakistan.

Besides, a report on alleged irregularities in the construction of new Islamabad International Airport will be reviewed.

The cabinet is also likely to appoint new chief executive officer and secretary of investment board of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

The meeting will review a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for promotion of cooperation with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the field of renewable energy, the sources said.

Moreover, reestablishment of IPO board and appointment of three members of the National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC) is also included in the agenda.

The meeting is likely to extend the domestic and international license of the Vision Air.

The cabinet is also anticipated to reestablish board of directors of the Karachi Garments City Company. Members will also review economic policies and the transfer of the budget of the former Fata region to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The policy on renewal of the licenses of the cellular companies for the current year will also be a part of the business agenda of the cabinet session.

The cabinet will endorse a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Auditor General offices of Pakistan and Malaysia.
