F.P. Report

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) once again arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in the money laundering case.

A team of the agency took the former Punjab chief minster, who is facing multiple cases including corruption, into custody from the Camp Jail in Lahore. The FIA would interrogate Mr Elahi about his alleged involvement in money laundering.

Earlier in the day, the probe agency arrested Chaudhry Zaman, an alleged frontman of the PTI leader. The suspect was later produced before the judicial magistrate who has approved his four-day physical remand. He is allegedly involved in illegal transactions.

Mr Elahi was arrested after the revelations made by Mr Zaman during interrogation. The FIA further said it had recovered evidence from his mobile phone.
