Former Interior Minister Rehman Malik contracts coronavirus, shifted to ICU

ISLAMABAD: Former Interior Minister Rehman Malik Tuesday tested positive for COVID-19.

As per family sources, the lungs of Rehman Malik has been affected by the coronavirus.

The former interior minister who has been admitted to a private hospital is currently shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

On the other hand, there was a sharp drop in coronavirus infections and positivity ratio in Pakistan whereas the number of deaths went up during the last 24 hours showed the statistics released by National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on today’s morning.

The number of Covid-19 cases after hovering between 7,000 to 8,000 for the last many days went down considerably as Pakistan reported 5,327 infections and 32 deaths during the last 24 hours (Tuesday)

As per the latest NCOC data, after the addition of 32 new deaths, the overall toll has now surged to 29,301 whereas the number of total infections now stood at 1,430,366 after adding the fresh 5,327 cases.

During the last 24 hours (Monday), 55,202 tests were conducted throughout Pakistan whereas the positivity ratio dropped to 9.65 percent. The number of patients in critical care was 1,500.
