Gas theft crackdown: 162 connections disconnected in Punjab, KP and Islamabad

LAHORE: During the ongoing crackdown against gas pilferers, SNGPL continued raids in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad, disconnecting another 162 connections; Rs. 8.27 million fine imposed

In Lahore, the regional team disconnected 3 connections on the illegal use of gas. In Multan 12 connections were disconnected on illegal use while another three were disconnected on use of the compressor. The team also lodged 2 FIRs against gas thieves.

In Peshawar and Karak, the company disconnected 118 connections on account of direct use of gas and illegal use of gas and amount of Rs. 4.67 million against gas theft cases. The team also lodged 14 FIRs against gas thieves In Sahiwal two connections were disconnected on illegal use of gas.

In Faisalabad, the team disconnected 3 connections for illegal use of gas while imposing a fine of Rs. 0.08 against gas pilfers. The regional team of Bahawalpur disconnected 2 connections on illegal use of gas and another seven on the use of a compressor and also booked an amount of Rs 0.35 against gas theft cases. In Gujranwala, two connections were disconnected for the illegal use of gas while one on the use of a compressor.

The team also imposed a fine of Rs. 0.46 against gas theft cases. The regional team of Mardan disconnected 08 connections on illegal use of gas and also imposed a fine of Rs. 0.16 against gas theft cases. In Sargodha, one connection was disconnected by the team for illegal use of gas while imposing a fine of Rs. 2.55 million against gas pilferers.
