KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs Giyanchand Essrani expressed his anger over the delay in completing the development schemes and warned the engineering wing of the department to improve their performance and added that slackness would not be tolerated at all.
He said that if such behavior of the engineers continues, requisition for engineers would be sent to Works and Services Department.The provincial minister issued these instructions while presiding over review meeting of the annual development schemes from 2013 to 2022. The provincial minister directed the additional secretary to prepare a detailed report of the development schemes by Friday.
Giyanchand Essrani also directed to issue the tenders for the development schemes of current financial year 2022-23 within a week.
He also directed that the repair schemes of worship places of the minority community damaged in recent rains should also be prepared in 15 days. During the meeting, the provincial minister was informed that 13 schemes were included in the last financial year, out of which 7 schemes have been completed. 52 ongoing and 63 new development schemes undertaken in current financial year.
The secretary minorities affairs Muhammad Abbas Baloch, Additional Secretary Abdul Ghani Mahar, Deputy Secretary Nazeer Soomro, Executive Engineer Sanjay Raja, Regional Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors and Assistant Engineers attended the meeting.
