LANDI KOTAL: The Khasadar force foiled narcotics smuggling bid by recovering 95 kg opium and 36 kg hashish from an Afghanistan returned truck here at Charwazgai checkpoint of Tehsil Landi Kotal on Thursday.
Assistant Political Agent, Landi Kotal said that on tip off, the Khasadar force team headed by Tehsildar Shams-ul-Islam stopped an Afghanistan returned truck bearing registration no.C-2997 for checking.
During search 95 kg opium and 36 kg hashish were recovered, concealed in numerous cavities of the vehicle. The truck drive and allegedly drug pusher identified as Kabul Khan son of Shukar Khan an Afghan citizen was arrested and put behind the bars for further investigation, the official said.
It is important to state that the vehicle had been declared clear by the forces, custom and Khasadar officials, deployed at more than five check posts, located from Torkham border till Landi Kotal.
