India vows continued assistance with Afghanistan

KABUL: Afghan National Security Advisor Dr. Hamdullah Mohib and Indian officials discussed various issues of bilateral interest on Friday (January 04).

According to a press release available with Afghan Islamic Press (AIP), Hamdullah Mohib and his accompanying delegation is currently paying visit to India. Mohib met his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval.

Both the leaders discussed various key issues including peace process led and owned by Afghans, security situation of Afghanistan, Wolesi Jirga election and presidential polls.

Dr. Hamdullah lauded the role of India in various sectors in Afghanistan including development projects and training of Afghan security and defence forces.

On the occasion, Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval vowed continued assistance of his country with Afghanistan in various sectors including development projects, war on terrorism, regional cooperation, mega projects and economic uplift.

Hamdullah Mohib demanded of his Indian counterpart to pay visit to Afghanistan for the expansion of ties between the two countries. Ajit Doval accepted the invitation.

Hamdullah Mohib and his accompanying delegation went to India yesterday.

India has also provided assistance in military sector to Afghanistan. It had provided four military helicopters to Afghanistan. (AIP)
