Internet, mobile services fully reinstated in Lahore

LAHORE: Internet and mobile services were fully restored in the provincial capital Lahore on Tuesday after seven days of partial shutdown due to protests by a banned outfit.

Internet and mobile signals service were suspended in several areas of Lahore for the past seven days amid the protests by the proscribed TLP. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on April 16 maintained that in order to maintain public order and safety, access to certain social media applications was restricted temporarily. It may be mentioned that the government prevented millions of internet and mobile users from using social media platforms for maintaining public order and safety.
