Jirga held in Kurram, emphasizes development amidst security steps

PARACHINAR: In a significant development, a grand jirga took place in the border town of Hangu, located in the central Kurram, where coal mine contractors collaborated to discuss crucial matters. The event saw the participation of Commandant Thall Scouts, Khubaib Rasool, Colonel Umair, Major Adil, Major Najam, and other officers.

During the grand jirga, Commandant Thall Scouts, Khubaib Rasool, addressed the gathering, highlighting ongoing projects worth millions in various regions of kurram. Completed mega projects, including schools, colleges, roads, and hospitals, were mentioned, with plans to open more coal mines in the near future.

Commandant Thall Scouts stressed that with improved security, progress and prosperity would follow. He acknowledged the current security challenges, as elements hostile to Pakistan seek refuge in the country’s internal regions. He appealed to the local community, urging collaboration with the Pakistani armed forces and law enforcement agencies to thwart these malicious activities.

Additionally, he expressed concern over the sacrifices made by both the forces and civilians in the region’s counter-terrorism efforts. Commandant Thall Scouts called upon the religious scholars, local leaders, and the public to join hands with the armed forces and FC police to eliminate the menace of terrorism and maintain peace in the area.

The Commandant emphasized that clearing the region of terrorists required cooperation not only with the forces but also with the local community. He specifically addressed the youth, stating that they are the future of the nation and encouraged them to actively participate in anti-narcotics initiatives.
