AD&SJ grants bail before arrest to 105 PTI’s activists

MARDAN: Additional District and Session Judge (AD&SJ) Asim Riaz granted bail before arrest to 105 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers booked in First Information Report (FIR), till 13th December, on Monday.

According to details, PTI’s workers were booked in FIR after Takhtbhai Convention. A workers’ convention was organized in Tehsil Takhtbhai, in which an FIR was registered against 105 PTI leaders and workers in Jabar police station of Mardan, including former members of the Provincial Assembly Iftikhar Ali Mashwani, Zahir Shah Toru, Abdul Salam Afridi, Tufail Anjum, Ameer Farzand Khan and ILF lawyers Riaz Paindakhel, Ameer Ejaz Khan Advocate, Ameer Khan Advocate, Faisal Anwar Advocate while the office bearers include Secretary Information Peshawar Region Engineer Adil Nawaz, President Tehsil Mardan Ilyas Toru, Iqbal Chairman, Tariq Ariani, 105 members, including Shariq Khan, Bilal, Muaz Bacha, President of Youth Wing Tehsil Ghari Kapura, Zarshad khan, Riaz Khan, Tehsil President Katlang, were also nominated for bail before arrest by Azhar’s legal team in Mardan Court of Asim Riaz.

Rahim Advocate, Saeed Usman Advocate, Alamgir Khan Advocate, Sajjad Ahmed Chishti, Muhammad Athar Khan Advocate, Ikhtsham Ali Advocate and Tela Muhammad Advocate appeared before the Additional Sessions Judge who granted interim bail to all 105 members till December 13.

Meanwhile, PTI workers, Including Senior vice President Sher Afzal Marwat and Ex-MPA Iftikhar Mashwani in Mardan while dozen of senior PTI leaders separated ways from the party.

According to the details, in Police Station of Jabar Mardan, an FIR has been registered against 105 PTI workers including Senior Vice President Sher Afzal Marwat and Ex-MPA Iftikhar Mashwani, following a workers convention in Takht Bhai Mardan. Police said that the gathering led to road closures, impacting the local polio campaign. Workers chanted slogans against the government and disrupted the routine activities. The FIR includes charges under sections 341, 188, 147, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code, related to unlawful assembly and rioting. The incident raises concerns about its effect on public health initiatives, emphasizing the need for political activities to consider broader community welfare.

The PTI Provincial Spokesperson, Zahir Shah Toru, condemned the police action against PTI workers, stating that they organized a peaceful worker convention without causing harm to public property or safety.
