KP Governor awards 356 degrees to KUST students

KOHAT: The 14th convocation of the Faculty of Science and Technology of Kohat University was held in the Iftikhar auditorium of the university in which Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali, Vice Chancellor of Kohat University Prof. Dr. Sardar Khan, Deans of various Faculties, teachers, male and female students and a large number of parents also participated.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali awarded degrees to 356 students, while gold medals were awarded to 68 students from Kohat University, 38 students from affiliated colleges and 6 students from private candidates. In his address, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali congratulated the graduating students and their parents and expressed the hope that today’s graduating students will be able to be patriotic Pakistanis along with their abilities.

He said that Kohat University of Science and Technology is the only university which prepared a five-year business plan and carried out the plans formulated in it.

Controlled expenditure within budgeted limits has resulted in increased financial reserves of the University for which Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sardar Khan and his team deserve congratulations.

The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that Kohat University is continuously increasing its economic capacity, which is a clear proof of receiving the award of Sustainable University of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 2020-21. He praised the Vice-Chancellor and administration of Kohat University for the completion of several development projects.

Vice Chancellor Kohat University Professor Dr. Sardar Khan in his address highlighted the last three years of the university. In his address, Dr. Sardar Khan said that in the last three years, many expansion projects were completed in the academic and infrastructure sectors of the university. Keeping in view the market requirement, six new departments, eleven new degree programs and six new course-based MPhil programs have also been started. While this year, two new faculties, Faculty of Management Science and Faculty of Health Science are included.

He said that with the establishment of Quality Enhancement Directorate, there has been significant improvement in the education quality and research areas of Kohat University and its affiliated colleges. For which the Higher Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has awarded this institution with the Quality Assurance Award.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sardar Khan further said that the global ranking of Kohat University of Science and Technology is continuously improving, while recently in the Times Higher Education World Ranking, Kohat University got the sixth position at the provincial level and the twenty-fifth position at the national level. Which is a tool for this university. He said that three major projects have been completed in the last two years which include solarization of Kohat University, completion of Jamia Masjid and establishment of successful youth programme.
