LANDI KOTAL: Provincial Minister for Auquf,Hajj and Religious Affairs Muhammad Adnan Qadri has said that the press club has a key role to portray a positive image of society and journalists are the eye of society who picture whatever happens around him.
He expressed the views while addressing on the occasion of the oath taking ceremony of the new cabinet of Landi Kotal press club, district Khyber last day.
He said that the profession of Journalism had resemblance with prophet hood because both were supposed to profess and preach truth.
Unveiling truth is promulgated on the media persons whether it is bitter, he added and said preference should be given to positive reporting to develop an encouraging picture of tribal society.
He urged the journalist community that being eyes and ears of the tribal society, they should play their active role to convey miseries of the layman to the rulers.
The Minister assured them that he would assist them to build up a well-established district press club in Landi Kotal.
Earlier, the Provincial Minister administered oath to new office bearers of Landi Kotal press club, comprising Ahmad Nabi as President, Hijrat Ali Afridi Vice-President, Mehrab Afridi General Secretary, Aman Ali Finance Secretary, Mian Sajid as Press Secretary.
The newly elected President apprised the chief guest of the problems being faced by the local journalists.
Scores of media persons, tribal elders and members of civil society attended the simple but impressive moot.
