F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) President Maulana Fazlur Rehman while refuting rumours about resigning from the PDM leadership said the February 4 summit of the anti-government alliance will take important decisions.

Talking to local news channel on Wednesday, the PDM president said the PDM movement has achieved 70 percent of its goals and it is united.

“The headlines on various channels are baseless and rumour-mongers are ignorant,” he further added.  Fazl said he did not talk about resigning from the PDM presidency in his telephonic conversation with Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif.

Fazlur Rehman on Tuesday telephoned PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif and the three leaders agreed to intensify the anti-government movement. The telephonic calls made by Fazlur Rehman are part of informal consultations among coalition leaders before the February 4 summit meeting of the PDM leaders.

The informal consultations were completed and all three PDM bigwigs agreed to move forward the anti-government movement ‘aggressively’.
