KP Govt to facilitate foreign media representatives

PESHAWAR: The Provincial government will facilitate the Foreign Media representatives based in Peshawar viz-a-viz discharging their professional obligations so as to project government’s reforms initiatives in a befitting manner as well as portraying the real picture of peace-loving people of the province.

The Secretary Information and Public Relations Govt: of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr.  Qaisar Alam made assurance to the foreign media   outlets based in Peshawar   during an interactive meeting in media cell of the Directorate General of Information Department on Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Rifat Ullah Orakzai of BBC, Mr. Farid Ullah of D.W Germany, Mr. Hameed Ullah of Deewa Radio, Mr. Ghulam Ghoos of RFERL, Mr. Khalid Khan Khwishgi of Mashal Radio, Mr. Haq Nawaz of China news, Mr. Inam ur Rehaman of Associated Press, Mr. Zafrullah Buneri of Al Jazeera TV, Mr. Arif Qureshi of VOA, Mr. Imdadullah Director General, Information, Syed Amir Hussain Shah, Director Public Relations and Mr. Zabita Khan, Assistant Director Press Information.

Secretary Information said that the present government introduced a number of reforms to ensure good governance, accesses to information, better service delivery, protecting the rights of women, safe homes for street children, upholding rule of law, strengthening of democratic institutions as well as a number of reforms in the sector of health, education and police.

The representatives of international media were appreciative of the good gestures of the Information Department for sharing useful information and cooperation with the foreign media which shows the openness, transparency and fair play on the part of the incumbent government. They assured their fullest cooperation to the highups of Information Department and hoped that such interactive sessions will keep continue in future in the larger interest of the people of the province.
