KP govt will submit contempt of court case against Fed Govt: Asad

PESHAWAR: Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that if the federal government does not start work till February on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the provincial government will file a writ petition in the court against the federal government.

This he said in a press conference here at KP assembly secretariat while talking to Media on Monday, Speaker said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has already passed three resolutions on CPEC western route while the CM KP has also written application and requested the federal government to include the western route in CPEC project.

He further added that already the Peshawar High Court give judgment to include the western route in CPEC, adding that the federal government while submitted its reply to the court has said that on the request of the KP people the western route has been included in the CPEC project in which Railway track, fiber optic and transmission line etc will be included.

Speaker added that in the reply of the federal government it has said that alternative routes for the CPEC project Gilgit, Chitral, Chakdara, Bisham and Khwaza Khela Roads will also be constructed in the project while eights industrial zone will be constructed in the province in which Khatar and Rashkai industrial zone will be constructed.

Asad Qaiser further said that in the project international stander railway track from Islamabad to Peshawar will be upgraded while from Dera Ismail Khan to Peshawar railway track construction and from Kohat to Jund road and railway track will be constructed and part of the CPEC project.

He informed that in the CPEC project 1700 mega watt power will be generated in the province and Pakistan and China has also in the JCC approve and part of greater Peshawar railway track will also be part of the project.

He further added that the federal government submitted its reply to the Peshawar High Court that all these projects will be part of the CPEC in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and if the federal government not started work till February then the provincial government will submitted contempt of court case against the federal government.

He lamented that advocate Qazi Anwar has not taken any fee to peruse the case.
