Lateef Afridi’s murder: Lawyers strike continued on third day

PESHAWAR: The strike from court proceedings continued on third day consecutively against murder of former president Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and senior Lateef Afridi, on Thursday.

Court’s proceedings were adjourned due to unavailability of lawyers due to strike while senior lawyer claimed that the murder was happened due to security lapses.
Peshawar High Court Bar Association Rahman Ullah, general secretary Farooq Afridi, district bar president Ali Zaman, senior lawyers Ishaq Ali Qazi, Amin-u-Rehman, Ayaz Khan, Yasir Khattak, Qazi Jawad along with KP Bar Council members including Syed Mubashir Shah, Nauman Kakakhel, Babar Khan Yousafzai, Danyal Chamkani, Amjad Hassan Tanoli and Syed Abdul Fayyaz other lawyers praised Lateef Afridi for his struggle for supremacy of constitution.

The legal fraternity argued federal government to complete legislation for Lawyers Protection Bill to curtain such incidents in future and demanded identification of responsible authorities for security lapses in PHC security.

The lawyers observed strike on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council (KPBC) announcement of mourning for three consecutive days against murder of Lateef Afridi in Peshawar High court bar room. They praised Lateef Afridi commitment for constitutional and human rights in Pakistan.
