Lukashenko ready to receive Putin, Biden in Minsk

MINSK (Agencies): Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has invited his US counterpart Joe Biden to Minsk, saying he is ready to arrange his meeting with Russian head of state, Vladimir Putin.

“Even Putin will fly to Minsk, so that we could meet here – two aggressors’ and apeaceful’ president. Why not? To end the war,” the BelTA news agency quoted Lukashenko as saying to foreign and Belarusian reporters on Thursday.

The Belarusian president assured that Biden would be guaranteed “total security and comfort” in Minsk. “The main thing is, he will leave here satisfied. Let’s see how he flies in,” Lukashenko said.

However, the Belarusian leader doubted his US counterpart would accept his invitation, while he said “it would be worth it to stop the war and prevent people from being killed.”

“He (the US president – TASS) will remain in Poland, because Poland is a hyena of Europe, and today, it is primarily playing the most active part in escalating the war in Ukraine. It has been shrieking the loudest, even louder than the Americans,” Lukashenko added.

On February 20-22, Biden will visit Poland where he will meet with his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda and the leaders of the Bucharest Nine, consisting of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia.
