Mari Petroleum T20 Cricket Tournament – POL wins the trophy

ISLAMABAD: Mari Petroleum T20 Cricket Tournament culminates with a thrilling final match, played at Islamabad Club Cricket Ground, in which POL cricket team defeated the MPCL team and won the trophy. The event was organized and sponsored by MPCL.

The tournament was a grand spectacle, with eight outstanding cricket teams, from oil and gas sector of Pakistan, participating in 15 thrilling pool matches. Mr. Muhammad Ali, Minister of Energy, was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony. In his speech, he congratulated the victorious team and mentioned that sports is important in helping youth to foster comradeship and adopt healthy lifestyle.

He commended the MPCL Management for their dedication to developing cricket at the grassroots level and giving local talent a chance to emerge. He also recognized MPCL’s contributions to the development of sports and the promotion of integration within the oil and gas sector. Afterwards, the Chief Guest awarded the winning and runner-up teams with the prizes. MD Mari Petroleum Mr. Faheem Haider was also present on the occasion to support the finalist teams. In addition to congratulating the victorious squad, MPCL’s Chief of Staff expressed his belief that sports have the ability to inspire, bring people together, and improve communities.

He said that MPCL has sponsored and planned several national-level sporting events throughout the years, including hockey, golf, and cricket. This cricket competition, which features teams from several oil and gas organizations, is a good example of the strength of unity and collaboration. The tournament was attended by passionate fans from both sides cheering for their teams.
