Mohammad Rizwan becomes leading six-hitter for Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: During the second T20I against New Zealand at Seddon Park, Hamilton, Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batsman, Mohammad Rizwan, achieved a significant T20I milestone on Sunday.

The 31-year-old cricketer now holds the record for the most sixes in T20Is for Pakistan, with a total of 77 sixes to his name. Mohammad Rizwan surpassed Mohammad Hafeez, who is second in the list with 76 sixes.

It’s worth mentioning that Pakistan is currently competing against New Zealand in the second T20I of the five-match series.

Rizwan made an impressive start to Pakistan’s chase of 195 runs, hitting a six off Tim Southee. However, he was dismissed by Adam Milne in the second over, scoring just seven runs.

Star batsman Babar Azam once again top-scored for Pakistan, contributing 66 runs off 43 balls with nine boundaries. Despite his efforts, Pakistan struggled in the chase, falling short by 21 runs, bringing New Zealand closer to winning the series.

The match had a dramatic turn of events as Pakistan lost both openers, Mohammad Rizwan and Saim Ayub, within the first overs for a mere 10 runs.

In the first innings, Finn Allen’s aggressive innings of 74 runs off 41 balls, including seven fours and five sixes, propelled New Zealand to a total of 194 runs.
