PESHAWAR: Adviser to Prime Minister and Provincial President of PML-N Engineer Amir Muqam on Thursday visited the regional head offices of Sui Northern Gas (SNGPL), Utility Stores Corporation and NADRA in Peshawar.
While on visit to Regional Headquarters of SNGPL, he directed the authorities to start working on all the approved development schemes of SNGPL in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa immediately as the federal cabinet has approved to proceed with the works on these schemes and now it is necessary to ensure their completion as soon as possible.
On this occasion, he was given a detailed briefing by the authorities of SNGPL Mardan and Peshawar Regions regarding the current status of the respective development projects.
Engineer Amir Muqam said that they were well aware of the problems of public pertaining to gas supply and that the federal government’s priority is to provide maximum relief to the people in this regard.
He directed the authorities to start working on new gas pipelines, replacement of old lines and other related matters, he termed these priorities and also directed officials to pay special attention to solving the complaints of the people of the province related to low gas pressure and gas load shedding.
On the occasion of his visit to the Zonal Office of Utility Stores, the Advisor to the Prime Minister also inspected the utility store established in the Zonal Office and talked to the men and women waiting for flour and Ghee. The advisor disapproved of and enquired about those responsible for the delay in supply.
Engineer Amir Muqam expressed his displeasure over the fact that people have been waiting outside the store since eight in the morning to get flour and ghee.
He added that despite the passage of several hours, the supply of these commodities has not started. He strictly instructed the concerned officials to ensure timely delivery of the said commodities on a daily basis so that the people coming to the store do not have to wait.
On this occasion, he also took a briefing regarding the utility stores in the province and directed the concerned authorities to work not only to increase the number of stores but also to make more mobile units active, throughout the province; so that the supply of cheap flour and other commodities to the poor people of the province at their doorsteps is ensured.
Engineer Amir Muqam took a briefing regarding the activities of NADRA Centers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the occasion of his visit to NADRA Regional Headquarters.
He directed the concerned authorities to ensure maximum convenience for the people of the province in providing NADRA facilities and pay special attention to redressal of public grievances.
The plans of new gas pipelines in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were also discussed.
