NAB recovers Rs303 bln from corrupt: Chairman

ISLAMABAD: Justice Javed Iqbal, chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Monday said the anti graft watchdog had recovered Rs 303 billion from corrupt elements and deposited it into the national exchequer.

NAB was taking serious measures to recover the looted money in Mudarba and Musharka scams.

In a statement, he said NAB had so far apprehended 36 big fish.Their cases were at various stages of hearing in different accountability courts.

According to Gillani and Gallup survey 59 percent people had appreciated NAB’s  performance in eradicating corruption.

The chairman has directed computerising the record of all corruption related complaints, besides informing about the status of complaints to the complainants.

He also directed to take the complaints to logical conclusion as per law. He directed the concerned officers to behave decently with the aggrieved persons.
