I am not a candidate for opposition leader: Sheikh Rasheed

KARACHI: Chief of Awami Muslim League (AML), Sheikh Rasheed has said still the final decision was taken for the candidate of replacing Khursheed Shah as opposition leader in the National Assembly.

This he said while speaking to local news channels on Thursday morning. Sheikh Rasheed said that he clearly informed the PTI chief Imran Khan that he not available for the leader of opposition in the national assembly.

He was hopeful that the matter of replacing the opposition leader in national assembly will be solve with consensus.

Recently the PTI had started efforts to bring his own candidate as opposition leader in the national assembly and contacted the MQM-P for supporting the PTI cause in this regard and both the parties were agreed on it to replace the Pakistan Peoples Party stalwart Khursheed Shah as the leader of opposition in the National Assembly, before the caretaker government steps in ahead of 2018 General Elections.
