F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: As the government of Pakistan has launched a countrywide crackdown on the Afghan nationals living illegally in the country in order to repatriate them to their motherland, it has also introduced one document regime on its border with Afghanistan at Chaman so that legal movement of the people could be ensured, on Wednesday.

Director Zonal Immigration, Balochistan, has said that the passport office at Chaman, which previously had just one room, two police personnel, and only one counter, now has 10 counters so that one document regime could be enforced and people could be facilitated.

“As many as 1, 500 passports have been processed at the office so far,” he informed.

On the other hand, Deputy Commissioner Qila Abdullah, has said that there are two separate counters for women at the office so that they don’t have to stand in long queues in order to wait for their turn.

Director zonal immigration has said that another passport has been set up at Qila Abdullah which has five counters.
