KABUL (TOLOnews): The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MoCIT) said that there are more than 23 million active SIM cards across the country.
Enayatullah Alkozai, the spokesperson for the ministry, said that since the start of the SIM card registration process, more than 7 million SIM cards have been registered.
Alkozai said: “The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology registered approximately 7.8 million SIM cards so far in order to legalize them and implement the guidelines.”
A number of residents of the capital expressed satisfaction with this action by the Islamic Emirate regarding the registration and registry of SIM cards.
“Registering SIM cards is a good process, everyone should register their SIM card, and the government should create more branches for registering SIM cards,” said Saleh Mohammad, a resident of Kabul. “The SIM card registration process is a very good process both for the government and the people,” said Khalilullah, another resident of Kabul.
Earlier, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology said in the government accountability program to the nation that 98% of SIM cards from telecommunication networks have been registered in the country.
