ISLAMABAD: Pakistan desires a balanced and equally beneficial relations with all major powers including the United States, China, Russia and others and having the same ambitious, Pakistan’s foreign Policy aims at forging a constructive and mutually beneficial engagement with all nations across the world including major powers.
It was shared by the Spokesperson Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad while responding to a media query regarding Pakistan’s foreign policy objectives during his weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Friday.
While commenting on recent visit of Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to the UNO, Amb. Asim said that Foreign Minister represented Pakistan in the Ministerial Meeting on Global Food Security Call to Action and the Security Council’s Open Debate on Maintenance of International Peace and Security Conflict and Food Security.
According to him, Foreign Minister presented Pakistan’s perspective and policy priorities on food and energy security, water crisis, development challenges, and issues of regional and international peace and security including the Kashmir dispute and grave human rights violations of Indian occupied forces in Indian Illegally Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
While commenting on India’s unlawful so-called Delimitation Commission in Indian Illegally Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Asim Iftikhar noted that the so-called Delimitation Commission is another attempt of BJP led government in India to disempower and disenfranchise Kashmiri people by altering the demographic structure of IIOJK with a view to converting the Muslim majority into a minority.
According to Spokesperson, the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) of OIC had condemned the Indian Government’s illegal exercise to redraw and delimit the electoral constituencies in the IIOJK, which is not only a violation of numerous OIC and UN Security Council Resolutions on Kashmir dispute but also a grave violation of international human rights and humanitarian laws.
Asim Iftikhar Ahmad called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council to take immediate cognizance of the grave implications of such delimitation exercise. While answering another question regarding recent partial convection of renowned Kashmiri leader Muhammad Yaseen Malik by an Indian court, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said that an Indian court has convicted renowned Kashmiri leader Muhammad Yasin Malik yesterday in a dubious and motivated case dating back to 2017.
According to him, Pakistan strongly condemned the framing of fabricated charges against Hurriyat leader Muhammad Yasin Malik and subsequent convection in the infamous Tihar jail by the Indian authorities.
Spokesperson observed that there is serious risk of judicial murder of Muhammad Yasin Malik on the hands of Indian deep state and government of Pakistan will make all efforts to save the life of great Kashmir leader, who is currently detained in infamous Tihar jail in India.
While responding to a media query regarding respect for human and women rights and curb on terrorism by the interim government in Afghanistan, Asim said that the Taliban authorities had been responding positively regarding a need for inclusive Afghan society, respect for human and women rights and education of Afghan girls as well as a curb on terrorism in recent months, however Pakistan has similar view like global community regarding preservation of these values by Afghan authorities.
According to him, Pakistan had been and still is a victim of terrorism animating from Afghan soil, while Pakistan has continuously raised the issue with Taliban authorities to address this persistent issue which causes a serious threat to the lives and properties of the people of Pakistan.
While responding to a question regarding Iran, Spokesperson said that Pakistan and Iran have a bilateral mechanism to address any unlawful act or unpleasant situation on their joint border and both sides settle their issues amicably.
To another question regarding repatriation of Chinese nationals from Pakistan after Karachi incident, Spokesperson said that some Chinese nationals had proceeded on summer vacations via chartered plane and they are scheduled to resume their jobs after completion of holidays while their travel is a normal practice and not link to Karachi incident.
While commenting on any proposal joint effort to enhance security of Chinese nationals in Pakistan, he said that Pakistan is taking every step to enhance security of Chinese nationals working in Pakistan. Pakistani Political leadership is in touch with Chinese side and Pakistan is ready to make all possible measures including joint mechanism for the protection of Chinese citizens working in Pakistan. Spokesperson informed the media that Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zaradi is schedule for a two-day official visit of Peoples Republic of China (PRC) on 21-22 May 2022. This would be Foreign Minister’s first bilateral visit abroad since assuming office last month.
