Pakistan records 2,662 new coronavirus cases, 29 deaths in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan reported 2,662 new coronavirus cases along with 29 virus-related deaths during the last 24 hours (Sunday), showed the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday morning.

According to the statistics released by NCOC, after the addition of 29 new deaths, the toll has now surged to 29,801, which represents a ratio of 2.0 percent.

The positivity ratio of the coronavirus cases in Pakistan reaches 5.62 percent, as 2,662 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 47,307 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 1,486,361.

The number of active cases in the country is 76,639 with 1,566 patients in critical condition.

There were 4,293 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 1,379,921 with a 92.8% recovery rate.

Punjab

Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 459 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the provincial tally to 495,430 with 10,012 active cases. In Punjab, 8 more patients died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 13,363. With 1,533 new recoveries reported, 472,055 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.

Sindh

Sindh has recorded 994 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 558,826 with 45,675 active cases. There were 2 new deaths reported related to the deadly disease as the death toll in Sindh reached 7,980. With 517 new recoveries, 505,171 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 968 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 210,726 with 13,266 active cases. The province reported 17 new virus-related death as the death toll reached 6,130. With 877 new recoveries, 191,330 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Balochistan

Balochistan recorded 40 new cases as the tally reached 35,096 with 297 active cases. The province reported no new death as the death toll reached 371. With 16 new recoveries, 34,428 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Islamabad

Islamabad has recorded 75 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 133,112 with 5,511 active cases. With 1 new death reported in the Federal Capital, the death toll reached 999. With 1,181 recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 126,602 in the federal capital so far.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir

Azad Jammu and Kashmir recorded 116 new cases during the last 24 hours as the tally reached 41,978 with 1,424 active cases. With 1 new death reported, the death toll reached 769. There were 160 new recoveries in the AJK as 39,785 patients have recovered so far from the virus.

Gilgit-Baltistan

Gilgit-Baltistan recorded 10 new cases during the last 24 hours, as the tally reached 11,193 with 454 active cases. With no new death reported in the province, the death toll remains at 189. With 9 new patients recovered, the number of patients recovered from the deadly disease reached 10,550.
