Pakistan reports 83 more corona deaths in a day

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has registered another 83 deaths and 3,689 infections by coronavirus during the last 24 hours (Thursday), showed the statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Friday morning.

As per the NCOC figures, after the addition of 83 new deaths, the overall toll has now surged to 26,580 whereas the number of total infections now stood at 1,197,887 after adding the fresh 3,689 cases.

During the last 24 hours (Thursday), a total of 61,127 tests were conducted throughout Pakistan whereas the positivity ratio stood at 6.03 percent.

During the last 24 hours (Thursday), as many as 3,755 patients have recovered from the virus whereas the total recoveries stood at 1,079,867. As of Friday, the total count of active cases in the country was recorded at 91,440.

As many as 442,401 coronavirus cases have so far been confirmed in Sindh, 410,463 in Punjab, 167,154 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 102,094 in Islamabad, 32,517 in Balochistan, 33,131 in Azad Kashmir and 10,127 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Moreover, 12,171 individuals have lost their lives to the pandemic in Punjab so far, 7,089 in Sindh, 5,200 in KP, 884 in Islamabad, 715 in Azad Kashmir, 342 in Balochistan and 179 in Gilgit Baltistan.
