PHC rejects appeal of convicted murderer

PESHAWAR: A divisional bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) comprised of Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah rejected the appeal of a convicted murderer for lifetime imprisonment, on Wednesday.

According to prosecution, Ganab Ali has killed Miraj Hussain in the premises of police station Orakzai while two persons were injured in the firing opened by another accused Zubair Ali.

The counsel for petitioner argued that allegations placed against Ganab Ali is baseless and added that shreds of evidence didn’t support prosecution’s claim.

The counsel for complainant Amin Khattak Lachi advocate argued that police had collected evidence from the crime spot while witnesses also nominated applicants directly and requested for rejection of the appeal.

PHC’s divisional bench comprised of Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah rejected Ganab Ali appeal while suspended conviction of Zubair Ali in the same case after conclusion of arguments.
