KANDAHAR: Unidentified armed men shot dead a police officer in Kandahar city early Sunday. The unknown gunmen opened fire on a police commander Abdul Wahab near Akhtar Matari shrine in the first security zone of Kandahar, reliable sources told Afghan Islamic Press (AIP).
Abdul Wahab was killed and another cop sustained injuries in the ambush attack, he said. The attackers fled the scene, he added. The police registered the case and started investigation. No one claimed responsibility for the attack till the filling of this report.
