Polio campaign in Punjab to be started from Feb 13

LAHORE: Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi presided over a meeting to review the anti-polio measures.

In the meeting, CM Naqvi said that an anti-polio campaign will be launched in 13 districts of Punjab from February 13 to 16 wherein 22 million children will be administered polio vaccine drops.

He has instructed the concerned authorities to take all possible steps to make Punjab a polio-free district.

Moreover, he directed to develop a fool-proof monitoring system during the vaccination campaign and to ensure the 100% implementation of the plan formulated for the polio eradication campaign.

“The fight against polio is the fight for the future of the youth of the nation and only collective efforts can put an end to this disease,” he continued.

Secretary Primary and Secondary Health gave a briefing about anti-polio measures and campaign.

Meanwhile, Provincial Minister Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Dr. Javed Akram, Provincial Information Minister Amir Mir, Secretary Primary and Secondary Health, Secretary Information, Additional Secretary Primary and Secondary Health, DG Health Services and related officials attended the meeting.

Provincial Minister Primary and Secondary Health Care Dr. Jamal Nasir participated in the meeting through video link.
