PESHAWAR: Criticizing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf led provincial government for its failure to eliminate corruption, the provincial leader of Pakistan People Party, Khwaja Muhammad Khan Hoti, asked Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtasab Commission to initiate probe into the alleged corruption in medicines and machineries sold out for government hospitals.

After the commencement of bus rapid transit (BRT) project in provincial city, the Ehtasab Commission should take steps for ensuring transparency along with eradicating corruption and irregularities in the project, said Muhammad Khan Hoti while speaking at a news conference on Saturday at Peshawar press club. PPP local leaders and workers were also in attendance on the occasion.

Lambasting the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for its reforms agenda, PPP KP leader alleged that it (government) was still using the police for political interests and pledges it had made earlier to bring about drastic reforms in police department were based on lies. He unveiled that the corruption had also taken place in Malam Jabba lease project after interrogation carried out by KPEC.

He claimed they would make public the documents carrying millions of corruption carried out in selling out of medicines and heavy machineries along with contract of furniture given to some near and dears in education department. Regarding the Ehtasab Commission, he said it should take forthwith action against the involved persons by probing into the alleged corruptions.

The PTI government, he said was mum over alleged corruption in health, education and other departments while the Ehtasab Commission should come forward and take notice of irregularities. As the across the board accountability should be made and in this regard no blue-eyed should be spared in this regard. If the public money is spent on masses it is considered a injustice with them, he stated.

Alleging the police personnel in Mardan district, he accused the provincial government that it was torturing and beating daily wagers and workers of PPP by using police force. Several handcart owners, laborers, fruit, vegetable sellers and others have been deprived of their jobs, he added. He urged Donald Trump President of United States (US), to stop leveling baseless and unjustified allegations against Pakistan as it failed in Afghanistan to defeat Taliban.
