PSF flays suspension of provision of free textbooks in State-run schools

LANDI KOTAL: Pukhtoon Student Federation (PSF), Khyber has condemned  suspension of provision of free textbooks in government schools and demanded of the provincial government to resume the facility in the better interest of the poor segment of Pakhtun society.

It is to be mentioned here that the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through a notification ceased free supply of new textbooks in State-run schools.

President Pakhtoon Students Federation (PSF) Khyber chapter Abdul Wahab said that the decision of discontinuing of proviso of  free books in government schools of militancy hit the province was condemnable and was equivalent  to deprive the Pakhtun children of getting education.

The useful facility has been continued for the last years but ironically the incumbent government suspended it that is a stepmother behavior towards the Pakhtoon children, he remarked.

He went on that it was the basic responsibility of the State to provide free education facilities to the children.

He urged the provincial government to resume the supply of free curriculum books in State-run schools if not the PSF would utilize all forums to compel the government to reverse the decision.
