Mardan: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial assembly Ubaid Khan Mayar and Zahid Durani have rejected charges of selling their votes in recently held senate polls and termed those allegations as baseless.

Both the PTI lawmakers were speaking to media-persons at a joint press conference held here on Sunday at Mardan Press Club.

Mr. Ubaid Khan Mayar told that he was not accountable to PTI chief Imran Khan over allegations of selling his vote of senate without proofs. He challenged Imran Khan if he had any proofs of his involvement in horse-trading, he should present it before people.

He said that if those were merely allegations and there was no fact in it then he had also the right to ask from Imran Khan that what was the price of PTI members’ votes polled to Pakistan Peoples Party deputy chairman senate Saleem Mandiwala?

Mr. Mayar alleged that there were some elements within Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf which did not want the ideological party workers to go forward, adding that his political career was being ruined through pre-planned conspiracy.

To a query, he said that he would join another political party after making consultations with his family members and friends.

On the occasion, member KPK provincial assembly Zahid Durani said that now it was become specialty of PTI leadership to level allegations against people without proofs.

He pointed out that the PTI central leader Jehangir Tareen who frequently accompanied Imran khan, was himself disqualified by the apex  court.

Similarly, he blamed that Chief Minister KPK Pervaz Khan Khattak was allegedly involved in several mega corruption cases during different regimes for the last couple of decades.

Under the law, he said every accused had the right to be heard but unfortunately they were not listened by the party leadership and allegations of selling senate votes were leveled against them without proofs.

He claimed that he himself had visited Bani Gala after the senate elections and asked from the leadership about proofs of those allegations but he was neither listened nor he was given the opportunity of explanation.

Is this justice of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, firstly level the allegations without proofs and then issue the show cause notice to its members? he asked.

On the occasion, both the PTI MPAs announced that they would move to court against their party leadership if they failed to present proofs of allegations of their involvement in horse-trading in recently held senate polls.
