Rana Sanaullah tipped to be made Punjab governor

F.P. Report

LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to name party’s veteran Rana Sanaullah as Punjab governor after taking reins of the federal government.

Sana, the party’s incumbent provincial president, lost his seat to PTI-backed independent candidate Nisar Jutt from his home constituency of Faisalabad on Feb 8.

According to sources, Rana Sanaullah is likely to sit in Governor House to support Maryam Nawaz who has been named as the chief minister candidate by the party.

The sources claimed that Maryam Nawaz is a newcomer in the parliamentary politics and party believes that a senior leader must sit in Punjab to help her in running the government affairs.

“Rana Sanaullah is most likely to be made as Punjab governor as party will not give the coveted office to any ally,” the sources said.

The incumbent Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman is a soft-spoken person but the party wants a hardliner and an experienced politician to sit in the coveted office, the sources added.
