Residents approached PHC seeks extensionof BRT’s routes

PESHAWAR: A writ has been filed before Peshawar High Court (PHC) seeking extension of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Feeder Route for Warsak Road, on Wednesday.

The petition was filed by Ghani Ullah, Rashid Ahmad and Najib Ullah residents of Ghari Sher Dad while Muhammad Saeed Warsak and Saad Jan Rabbani should argue the case before honorable court.

Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Secretary Transport, Secretary Communication and Director General Peshawar Development Authority along with other competent authorities were made respondents in the writ petition.

The petition seeking extension of BRT Feeder routes for Warsak road to cover Ghari Sher Dad, Bara and adjacent areas because Hayatabad, Kohat Road, Naguman and Pabbi are facilitated with feeder buses for transportation. Hundreds and thousands of people are deprived from BRT facility because they are living on Warsak Road, the writ stated.

The writ argued that Warsak Road laying in the premises of Peshawar while several government offices including erstwhile Fata secretariat, schools and hospitals are located on the Warsak road while thousands of people are visiting the area for obtaining different service.

The petition requested for provision of feeder route by extension of BRT to Warsak Road to facilitate local residents in the premises with proper transportation facility while early hearing is expected on the writ.
