Sheikh Rashid will make ‘comeback’ after August 30

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid has said he will stay away from politics till August 30.

Talking to the media after the Eid prayers, Rashid took a jibe at PML- N-led coalition government for budget mismanagement.

“The state of the country is visible to everyone. Trillions of rupees in taxes have been imposed while people cannot afford basic utilities,” he said.

“This government failed to deliver. People can either pay electricity bills or children’s school fees,” he added.

He went on: “Skyrocketing electricity tariffs left people in the lurch while PM Shehbaz Sharif facilitated the industrialists with a significant slash in the power tariffs.”

“The country has gone into a quagmire. “Problems are not being solved.”

“PTI founder Imran Khan is right. Negotiations with the current government are futile, as the real power lies elsewhere. The time for negotiations has passed, and issues remain unresolved.

People will take to the streets against this government is under a divine curse.

“Institutions should bring all stakeholders to the table. Where are those who claimed that $25 billion was coming from Saudi Arabia?” he questioned.
