Sindh govt launches new route of electric bus in Karachi

Karachi: In a significant move to improve public transportation, the Sindh government has announced the launch of a new route for the electric bus service in Karachi. The Minister of Information, Transport, and Mass Transit Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon, revealed that the new route spans 18 kilometers, connecting Malir Cantt Check Post No. 5 to the Numaish Chorangi, Karachi.

The electric bus will traverse key areas such as Safoora Chowrangi, Mausamiyat, Kamran Chowrangi, Dalmia, Liaquat National Hospital, Jail Chowrangi, and MA Jinnah Road before reaching Numaish Chowrangi via Perfume Chowk Millennium Mall.
Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized that the newly introduced electric bus route will significantly enhance travel convenience for the residents of Karachi, the new route promises to offer an affordable and comfortable commuting experience for the public.

Sharjeel Inam Memon said that The People’s Party Sindh government is fully aware of the people’s travel challenges, and our topmost priority is to provide accessible and comfortable transportation options for the citizens.

Meanwhle, In a commemorative event marking the 10th anniversary of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, Sharjeel Inam Memon, the Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit in Sindh, paid heartfelt tribute to the visionary leadership of former President Asif Ali Zardari.

In a statement, Sharjeel Inam Memon highlighted the pivotal role played by President Zardari during his tenure, as the early stages of CPEC Agreements were set into motion under his guidance. Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized that it was President Zardari who conceptualized the ambitious CPEC project, envisioning it as a vital linkage between the western region of China and the strategic port of Gwadar in Pakistan.

Sharjeel Inam Memon acknowledged that it was President Zardari’s foresight that led to the crucial decision of not relying on debt for any of the CPEC ventures. Instead, President Zardari introduced the innovative concept of “build, operate, and transfer,” which laid the foundation for the financial framework of the projects.
