Twelve persons held for parking on roadsides

PESHAWAR: Initiating operation against encroachers on Ring Road Peshawar on Sunday, the officials of district administration held 12 persons for parking their vehicles on roadsides.

According to details, additional assistant commissioner Qaiser Khan Kundi along with traffic police and station house officer (SHO) of Peshtakhara police stations raided over drivers and other persons in Ring Road and Etwar bazaar in Peshawar for parking their cards on roadsides causing smooth flow of traffic. Spokesman of administration said that people mostly buy and sell cars in this area which is violation of rules and regulations.

In the light of operation, a total of 12 persons were apprehended by officials of district administration. The action against those persons was taken on directives of deputy commissioner Peshawar Islam Zeb. Official clearly said the parked cars had caused severe traffic jam on Ring Road along with multiplying miseries of pedestrians, motorists and public transport.

However, the officials of administration are constantly paying visits of these areas on directives of deputy commissioner to ensure smooth flow of traffic and remove parking of cars from road. Officials warned they will take stern action against those parking cars on roadsides in Etwar bazzar on Ring Road. The administration will continue its raids on holiday to eliminate illegal parking on road.

It is to be mentioned here that district administration officials had also raided few days back in which they had detained 22 persons for parking their vehicles on roadsides in Etwar bazaar and Ring Road.
