KARACHI: The World T20-winning captain, Younis Khan backed Sarfraz Ahmed for captaincy and said that there should not be any discussion regarding replacing him as a captain just ahead of the World Cup.

“He is our captain and I am very hopeful that this team will bring us the good news under his leadership,” he said. Pakistan’s former skipper advised the national team to be confident during the World Cup and said that the whole nation is supporting the team. “If they will play this [positive] mindset and play for the nation, I can guarantee you that Pakistan team will at least reach the semi-final [of the World Cup],” said Khan.

Earlier, Sarfraz Ahmed led Pakistan to the Champions Trophy win in 2017 in England and the upcoming World Cup will also be played at the same venue from May 30 to July 14, where Australia will defend their title against nine other teams.
