Naqeeb’s killing flayed, PTI holds protest demo

ZHOB: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf held a protest demonstration in front of press club against the brutal killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud in an allegedly staged encounter by Karachi police. The participants holding placards inscribed with messages ‘justice for Naqeebullah Mehsud, stop Pashtoon genocide, sham on Rao Anwer’ and calling for punishment of the policemen involved in a ‘fake’ encounter.

President PTI Dawood Khan Mandokhail, Akther Shah Kakar and Sajid Bangash said that Naqeebullah Mehsud, who belonged to Waziristan, was innocent and had no link with any banned militant organization. The speakers demanded of the Chief Justice of Supreme Court, Army Chief, Federal Interior Minister, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, Provincial Home Minister Suhail Anwer Sial and Inspector General Police A.D Khwaja to immediately order judicial probe into the killing and an exemplary punishment to the culpable police officer.

It is worth mentioning, that the family members of Mehsud claim that 27-year-old, Naqeebullah hailed from Waziristan and he was interested in modeling, having no links with any militant organization. He was picked up by plain-clothes officials earlier this month from a restaurant in Sohrab Goth and then murdered last week in an alleged police encounter led by SSP Anwer in Usman Khaskheli Goth

Pashtoon Action Committee Zhob and civil society members in a large number also staged a protest demonstration to condemn the killing of Naqeeb Mehsud. Abdul Rehman Sherani, Fazal Amin Mandokhail, Ubaidullah Mandokhail, Hussain Alam, Abdul Khan Mandokhail and others spoke on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar has taken suo moto notice of the alleged extrajudicial killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud during an encounter inKarachi. He directed Inspector General of Police Sindh to submit a report in a week.
