NH&MP celebrates Raising Day

PESHAWAR: The National Highways and Motorway Police came into being on 26-11-1997 and unlike to other LEAs (Law Enforcement Agencies), it introduced the culture of friendly policing with uniform enforcement of laws on National Highways and Motorways. Since its establishment the National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) has been serving the nation with high standards of professionalism. The Motorway Police is performing a commendable job in reducing risks to road users and it is well demonstrated by the fact that its jurisdiction continues to expand day by day optimistically.

In order to commemorate on the direction of SSP Aftab Ahmed Mahsud, National Highways & Motorway Police Sector M-1, celebrated its “Raising Day” on 26th November by presenting gifts to commuters as a gesture of friendly policing at Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway. In this regard, a stall had been established at Main Toll Plaza Peshawar whereby the NH&MP officers distributed road safety pamphlets among the commuters and sweet candies to the children. The heirs of the Shaheed NH&MP officials also participated in the subject celebrations.

Another stall was established at Indus Service Area, whereby Road safety information and video clips were played through multimedia projector.

A large number of motorists visited the stall and Road safety pamphlets/sweet candies were distributed among them. The officers from SSP Office, MEU (Mobile Education Unit), DSP/CPO LHQ, M-1 and the respective officers from Beat-1, Peshawar and Beat-3, Swabi participated in the program. The motorists took keen interest in the subject event, celebrated by the NH&MP.
