Nine dead, 22 injured in KP road mishaps, rain related incident

PESHAWAR (INP): At least nine people including women and children died while 22 others were injured in separate road mishaps, other rain related incidents across the province and adjacent tribal agency.

Police said that a passenger bus coming from Kurram rammed into a pickup van moving ahead due to failure of brakes near Kohat Friendship Tunnel. Three including Ghulam Hussain and his wife Aaj Bibi and another Abdul Malik hailing from Khyber Agency died in the accident while six women among 13 people were injured.

An over speeding passenger coach coming from Karachi hit a car at Indus Highway in Karak. The motorist Abdul Haleem and his two sons died on the spot in the accident.

One person died and five others were injured when a passenger bus plunged into a gorge in Chaghto area at Indus Highway in Karak district.

Two girls died while two people including a woman were injured when dilapidated roof of a house owned by one Niaz Ali, located in village Samkhel of Mohmand Agency came down after the area was lashed by heavy rain. The deceased included six-year and a 12-year daughter of Niaz Ali.

The bodies and injured of all incidents were shifted to different hospitals of respective cities where some with critical condition were referred to Peshawar.
