11-year-old missing girl found murdered in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: A missing 11-year-old girl, Sonia, was found murdered at dry port in Faisalabad on Monday.

Police said that the body of Sonia was recovered under a container at dry port in the city. Sonia had went missing on April 27 when she had went with her herd of domestic animals.

Rescue officials shifted the corpse to hospital for medico-legal requirements. The police said that people came to know about the body when foul smell started spreading from the container at the dry port.

Meanwhile, an eyewitness child told the police that he had seen the girl with a man. The police took the child’s father into protective custody for further information.

The police have registered a first information report (FIR) and launched investigations into the murder.

Earlier, Punjab police on February 9 had arrested two people including a milkman for allegedly raping and killing a seven-year-old girl in Faisalabad.

According to police, the dead body of a seven-year-old girl had been recovered from a factory in Awami Street area of Faisalabad. Medico-legal examination had revealed that the girl was brutally raped before being murdered.

The police had arrested a milkman and his accomplice nominated in the First Information Report (FIR) for allegedly committing the heinous crime.
