28 held for illegal parking on Ring Road

PESHAWAR: Initiating a crackdown against the illegal parking, the district administration officials on Sunday apprehended 28 persons for parking their vehicles on roadside to sell out or buy on Ring Road Peshawar. .

The team headed by additional assistant commissioners Qaiser Khan Kundi, Irfan Ali and comprising police personnel and others raided over buyers and sellers of vehicles at Etwar bazaar Ring Road which caused problems in smooth flow of traffic for people. The action against violators was taken on direction of deputy commissioner Islam Zeb, spokesman of district administration informed.

Because of the illegal parking on main road, the general public and residents of Hayatabad, a residential area in provincial city were facing numerous problems while moving from one area to another in city. The illegal parking had hindered the smooth flow of traffic and it had multiplied the miseries of people in general, he added.

However, in the light of raid, 28 persons were taken into custody who were involved in unlawful practices on Ring Road. The detained persons will be treated as per law and no concession will be given to them. He while quoting additional assistant commissioners as saying that the administration will continue taking stringent action against encroachers in entire city in light of direction of deputy commissioner and nobody will be spared in this regard. He warned the owners of vehicles to comply with rules and regulations and avoid parking their vehicles on road side. People were asked to avoid such unlawful parking otherwise the action against them will remained continue in coming time. Earlier, the administration officials had carried out raid in same area and had held 12 persons for violating rules and regulations.
