50% decrease in terror incidents in Fata

ISLAMABAD: After the worsening law and order condition improved in parts of tribal areas, the Fata Research Center (FRC) in its recent report revealed that 50 per cent decrease in terror related incidents has taken place in Fata as compared to last year.

Experts and analysts term the substantial decrease in terrorism and extremism in most part of tribal agencies is the outcome of military actions Zarb-e-Azb and Radul Fassad. During the current year, the security forces officials carried out around 1,000 intelligence based operations across Fata in which a great chuck of arms was recovered along with arrest of alleged terrorists, the report stated.

While an another report issued by a renowned organization says that because of the people’s patronage and military actions, the terror related incidents have tremendously 50 per cent reduced and it made possible due to sacrifices offered by officials of security forces. However, not only the tribesmen but the rest of country will definitely benefit from the restoration of peace and certainly in the country, it added.

According to the Director of Pakistan Institute of Pace Studies Dr Aamir Rana, the restoration of peace in Fata will prove to be beneficial for timely completion of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He credits the improved law and order situation to security officials who offered sacrifices for their native land.

Elimination of terrorism and extremism in various areas of Fata is a good omen for tribespeople and it will provide an opportunity to new generation and also bring about prosperity in entire country, he added.
