Afghan police officer kills his four comrades in Farah province

FARAH (Khaama Press): An officer of the Afghan National Police has killed his four comrades in western Farah province of Afghanistan, the local officials said Tuesday.

Provincial police spokesman Mohibullah Mohib confirmed that the incident took place on Monday in the provincial capital of Farah province.

Mohib further added that the police joined Taliban militants after opening fire on his comrades.

The officer whose identity has not been disclosed had joined police nearly a year ago and investigations are underway from the individuals who had given guarantees before join police, the local officials said.

Farah is among the relatively volatile provinces in West of Afghanistan where Taliban militants are active in some of its remote districts and often carry out attacks against the government and security institutions.
