Afghanistan calls for regional peace talks to enhance positive interaction with neighboring countries

KABUL (BNA) The Actin Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, convened a meeting with the ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions from Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, India, Turkey, and Indonesia in Kabul today, Wednesday.
The meeting was to underscore the importance of regional peace talks in fostering increased and sustained positive interaction with Afghanistan.
During the meeting, Minister Muttaqi emphasized the need for constructive engagement between Afghanistan and its neighboring countries, as well as the international community. He reiterated that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seeks to establish friendly and mutually beneficial relations with all nations, promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
Furthermore, the Foreign Minister emphasized that in the presence of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) and the independent central government, there is no requirement for the appointment of new special representatives.
This statement highlights the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to working within existing frameworks and institutions to address regional challenges and foster cooperation.
