Afghanistan loses opening World Cup match to Australia

BRISTOL (Khaama Press): The Australia cricket team defeated Afghanistan by seven wickets during the opening world cup clash of the Afghan team on Saturday.

Played in Bristol, the Afghan team won the toss and elected to bat first. They set a target of 208 runs by losing all their wickets during the 38th over of the game.

Afghanistan lots its opener batsmen in the initial overs of the game. Both Mohammad Shahzad and Hazratullah Zazai could not score any run after opening the inning for Afghanistan.

Rahmat Shah managed to score 43 runs in the top order with Gulbaddin Naib scoring 31 runs and Najibullah Zadran 51 runs in the middle order.

Rashid Khan also performed well and scored 27 runs from 11 balls. He stroke 3 sixes and 2 fours.

Australia managed to chase the given target during the 34th over of the gamev by losing 3 wickets only.
