ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Monday again issued an ultimatum to Prime Minister Imran Khan asking him to resign within 24 hours.
During an address to the party workers in Gujrat, he lambasted Imran Khan for taking U-turn on every matter and said that people of every city had raised “Go Selected Go” slogan.
“When we arrived in Hyderabad, people there also raised the slogan of Go Selected Go. The mission of Imran Khan is to give pain to the people of Pakistan,” he stated.
“Enough is enough. Resign and go home. You have got 24 hours. If you have courage, dissolve assemblies,” he said to the prime minister.
“Every slogan and every promise of Imran Khan are lies. He is causing damage to the country and needs to go,” Bilawal said.
“Imran Khan became prime minister through umpire’s finger, not through a vote. Our demand is free and fair elections in the country. People themselves should elect their representatives,” he added.
He also raised his voice against the ‘economic murder’ of the farmers by the government and said that the PPP strengthened the federation by raising the ‘Pakistan Khapay’ slogan.
Later, Bilawal addressing the party workers in Lala Musa said that ‘puppet’ Imran Khan would be held accountable and jailed for his wrongdoings. And he would not be allowed to flee abroad, Bilawal said.
He said: “Our destination is near. We will leave for Islamabad tomorrow morning and reach D Chowk.”
Earlier while talking to media in Wazirabad on Monday, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the opposition’s target was Prime Minister Imran Khan believing that transparent elections were possible in the country only after his removal.
The PPP Chairman was upbeat about his Awami March saying that it was the success of PPP’s long march that opposition was one page. Everybody’s purpose is to send this ‘Inept’(prime minister) home, he added.
On the issue of moving no-confidence motion against National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, Bilawal said that the committee would decide about it and a meeting of the opposition parties’ leaders would be held soon in this connection.
He said as far as the no-trust move against the premier was concerned we all had unanimity of thought on it.
He opined that the fear of defeat had made the premier’s manner of speech aggressive and harsh and in his discomfort he had indulged in swearing.
Bilawal said Imran Khan had earlier threatened that if removed from power, he would become extremely dangerous.
“We cannot tolerate the damage you (PM Khan) have inflicted on this country. That’s why we have launched our struggle against you,” the PPP chairman stated.
The success and loss is in the hands of Allah, we are just striving, he added.
Bilawal said that the opposition had already defeated government in Senate and ‘this time we will also defeat it’.
