By-polls in13 districts of KP on Sunday

PESHAWAR: By-elections will be held in 13 districts of the province on Sunday, February 13, 2022 with Police, Pakistan Army and FC troops will also be on duty for ensuring foolproof security, said a release of the Provincial Election Commission here on Saturday.
The security personnel including Police, Pakistan Army and FC troops have been deployed to provide security so that the voters could exercise their right of vote without any fear, the release said.
Besides the overall security arrangement, security high alert at sensitive, most sensitive polling stations as Peshawar will hold by-elections on six Union Councils. In the by-elections, 710,472 voters will exercise their franchise and the by-elections will be held in 97 village, neighborhood councils. It said that 237 polling stations have been set up for the elections and a total of 739 polling booths have been set up in 237 polling stations.
For making arrangements at different polling booths, the educational institutions were closed from Saturday for by-elections.
It is worth mentioning here that the elections to these Union Councils were postponed due to riots, quarrels or deaths. The second round of local elections will be held on March 31, 2022.
Meanwhile, the distribution of election materials for the re-polling of the first phase of local body elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has got under way and would be completed for the smooth conduct of the election of February 12, 2022.
Polling will be held again on February 13 in different polling stations of 13 districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Election Commission said. A total of 568 polling stations are being set up for re-polling, it said. A total of 7 polling stations are being set up in Peshawar and a total of 710,472 voters will exercise their franchise in the re-polling. The number of male voters is 362,924, and the number of female voters is 347,548, the Election Commission said.
A total of 12,913 voters will exercise their franchise in three Neighborhood Councils in Peshawar, Election Commission said and re-polling will be held at 5 polling stations of Neighborhood Council Qadirabad, Election Commission further said. The total number of voters in NC Qadirabad is 9322, with 4864 male and 4458 female voters, it said. Polling will be held at NC Afridi Garhi men’s polling station, Election Commission informed.
The total number of voters at this polling station is 1,970, the Election Commission said. A total of 1621 women will exercise their franchise in NC Khyber Pakhtunkhwa polling station, Election Commission said.
